Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization is a pretty fun profession. While I do a lot of copywriting, optimizing the text is the fun stuff. It's interesting to take a web site that is virtually search engine invisible and turn it into something that's showing up on the frong pages of Google, MSN, Yahoo, and other major engines.

I'm still pretty new to the whole online marketing arena, but it's something that I'm planning on sticking with. I think with just about every business in existence going online it will be more important than ever to have a site that is easy to search for.

A few examples of some sites I've optimized include:
http://burtongroup.com
http://buildwithsage.com
http://certiport.com
http://holidaygolfusa.com
http://i4.net

Xbox Live Gamertag

I've been playing online a little bit more than normal lately, so if you want to add me to your friendlist, go ahead.

Xbox Gamertag: Jeff AMN

Mario Kart DS Online Friend Code

Here's my DS friend code: 180447 823700

I go by Jeff AMN for all my online gaming these days. I used to play with either jar155 or Froboy, so it you've seen me in the past...that's, uh, well, cool I guess.

Advanced Media Network

For just over a year I have been writing for a web site doing game reviews, previews, and editorials. I mostly cover DS and GBA games for the site, but around E3 time we all sort of branch out and lend a hand to other channels whenever we can. At Advanced Media Network we cover Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft videogames as well as movies, game cheats, anime, and more. The network is growing nicely and it hasn't showed any signs of slowing. Coming soon the entire staff will be posting their top ten lists for 2005, so keep checking over the next few days to catch that.

A new job and a new home

Since May I've been back living in Bountiful. My wife and I had been living in Springville while she finished up school and I finished out my one-year employment contract with Nature's Sunshine. We moved from our small one bedroom apartment into a two bedroom condo that we bought. My wife has finished school and I'll be heading into my final semester this spring.

I'm now employed at i4 Solutions (http://i4.net) as a search engine specialist in the online marketing department. I work mostly in search engine optimization (SEO) and I love it here. It sure beats taking orders from people looking for their vitamin and herb fix. Once I finish school I'll just move to a full-time position here.

It's nice being back here in Bountiful where I grew up, though it would be nice if my wife could see her family it bit more often.

It's been a long time since the last update...

Wow, it's been over a year since my last update, but I'm planning on keeping this up to date now. Since the release of the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS I've been recharged in my gaming habits. The GameCube, PS2, and Xbox were all nice, but things feel fresh again. Even with how short on time I've been with work and school, I've had some amazing gaming experiences that past year. I've picked up around 30 DS games, and I've really enjoyed the handheld.

Since the hype right now is on the Xbox 360, I'll kind of focus on that for a minute. Here's what I picked up at launch:
  • Xbox 360 Premium Pack
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Project Gotham Racing 3
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006
  • Kameo: Elements of Power
  • Geometry Wars 2
  • Gauntlet
  • Smash TV
  • Madden 2006
  • Extra wireless controller
  • Extra wired controller
Tomorrow I plan on picking up Dead or Alive 4 and I might be trading in Tiger Woods, Madden, and Perfect Dark Zero; these three titles just haven't been very appealing to me. With the higher pricing structure for software and accessories I think I'll probably be trading in games a bit more often than I used to. I don't normally like trading in games, but since getting married and buying a home money is a bit tighter.
